Why Write

Writing makes people profound, as Francis Bacon famously said. Any information that enters the mind is initially a subjective feeling, and then it is scattered in the form of words within our mind. To describe the feeling is equivalent to experiencing it again, with the key difference being that by reorganizing it into objective words, the information is restructured and output in a more organized way. In the process, the information becomes more diversified and inspires creative thought. Additionally, by sharing one's opinion with others, any feedback may help the author reduce blind spots.

I had the idea to write my personal electronic notes some years ago. Constrained by the busyness of work, I always delayed doing so, until two key factors were met:

  1. As GPT matured enough and became freely usable, I could use it as my reviewer to help me be more confident in the shared content.
  2. I came across some fine examples. In particular, I briefly browsed The Blue Book, with its wide variety of content and well-organized, one-stop navigation. It amazed me and motivated me to take some free time to write my personal notes.
